HOW CAN I PREPARE FOR MY APPOINTMENT?
As part of our policy, you are required to read through the instructions provided on our ‘What To Expect’ page, our ‘Policies’ page, and our ‘FAQ’ page before booking your appointment. These pages provide extensive information about how you should prepare for your appointment, what to expect when you come in, and what is required during aftercare. We encourage you to follow all care instructions to the best of your ability.
WILL IT LOOK NATURAL, AND WHAT COLOURS CAN I CHOOSE?
You can choose any colour you like! I carry an extensive range of pigments with matching glosses, so you can ‘try on’ different shades before committing. It’s a good idea to bring reference photos, lipsticks or glosses of colours that you like. This is a personalised treatment, so we will work with you to finalise the perfect colour and shape on the day of your appointment. Once you’re happy with your choice, we will go ahead with the procedure.
CAN YOU COVER UP AN OLD LIP TATTOO?
Under certain circumstances we are able to do cover up tattoos, however, this is dependent on the state of your lips. We ask that you send photos before booking your appointment, so that we can advise if we’re able to work with you. Please use the form on our ‘Contact Us’ page to get in touch. If you book your appointment without consulting us about a cover up first, we may have to cancel the appointment on the spot and your deposit will be forfeited (this is outlined on our ‘Policies’ page).
CAN I GET LIP BLUSH IF I HAVE LIP FILLER?
Yes! Lip filler and lip blushing complement each other well, as filler can lighten the natural lip colour. Lip blush can be used to redefine and enhance the shape and colour of your lips. CAUTION: your lip filler appointment must be NO SOONER than four weeks before your lip blushing procedure.
CAN WE GO OUTSIDE THE LIP LINE?
Yes, but only by 0.5mm. The skin on your face is different to the skin on your lips, so results can be inconsistent.
CAN I GET LIP BLUSH IF I HAVE DARK OR COOL-TONED LIPS?
Yes, however the process is a little different. Your first procedure will require colour correction to neutralize the cooler or darker colour of your lips - this is usually done with an orange shade of ink, as the other colours will risk darkening the lips, or having no effect at all. Results cannot be guaranteed, and it may take a few sessions to achieve the desired results. We will not be able to use a nude pigment on dark or cool-toned lips.
HOW DO I KNOW IF I NEED LIP NEUTRALIZATION?
If you have a darker skin tone, cool-toned or two-toned lips, you will need to have the neutralization procedure. If you’re unsure, please get in touch via the ‘Contact Us’ page so we can help determine this with you.
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE?
Please allow 2.5 hours for your appointment.
IS IT PAINFUL?
The procedure can be slightly uncomfortable, however numbing cream is applied to the area to minimise discomfort. Please avoid taking Advil or drinking coffee before your procedure, as it will make you more sensitive during your procedure, and increase the chance of bruising and inflammation.
HOW LONG UNTIL MY LIPS ARE HEALED?
The standard window we allow for your lips to be fully healed and stable is six weeks, however it may take up to eight weeks because it’s dependent on the person and their healing ability. Once your lips have healed, you will be due to book your touch-up appointment. You can find detailed information about the healing process on our ‘What To Expect’ page.
HOW LONG WILL IT LAST?
Anywhere from 18 months to five years. This is because the final results and longevity of your tattoo is influenced by many factors, such as your skin type, your overall health, the degree of sun exposure, and what skin care you use. It’s vital that you follow our care instructions to the best of your ability, which can be found on our ‘What To Expect’ page. This page will provide further details about how to avoid premature fading. Coming in for touch-up appointments is highly recommended to extend the life of your tattoo.
DO I NEED A TOUCH-UP?
It is recommended to get a touch up six to eight weeks after the first appointment, and then every few years after that. This will extend the life of your tattoo, and help to keep your lips looking fresh and beautiful. During your touch-up, we can alter the shape, colour, and fill in parts where the pigment has not been retained during healing (this usually occurs when scabs come off prematurely). The procedure is usually considered complete after two appointments, but every person heals differently; some find they have fantastic results after just one appointment, and some need a few appointments to achieve their perfect result. Please ensure your lips are fully healed before booking your follow up appointment; six weeks is the standard amount of time, but if your lips have not healed enough, we suggest waiting until eight weeks - find more information about how to determine where you’re at with your healing on our ‘What To Expect’ page. You will also need to make sure you’ve waited the appropriate amount of time between lip filler, anti-wrinkle, or laser appointments to have your touch-up.

DOES THIS PROCEDURE TRIGGER COLD SORES?
This procedure can trigger cold sores for carriers of the herpes simplex virus.
